Tragedy in Esmeraldas
Nearly 15,000 people affected and more than 2,500 houses were destroyed as a result of the heavy flooding and landslides in Esmeraldas due to heavy rains and river overflows, on June 4, 2023.
Several families were trapped on the roofs of their homes in order to avoid being swept away by the current and mud. Many of them lost their houses and all their belongings. The access roads were destroyed, without electricity and drinking water in different towns of the green province.

Cerca de 15.000 personas afectadas y más de 2.500 casas destruidas fue el resultado por las fuertes inundaciones y deslaves en Esmeraldas debido a las fuertes lluvias y desbordamientos de ríos, el pasado 4 de junio de 2023.
Varias familias quedaron atrapadas en los techos de sus viviendas con el fin de evitar ser arrastrados por la corriente y el lodo. Muchos de ellos perdieron sus casas y todas sus pertenencias. Quedaron destruidas las vías de acceso, sin electricidad y agua potable en diferentes poblaciones de la provincia verde. Se agradece sus donaciones para ayudar a los damnificados.
